Advice & Support
- Don’t Wait to Address Problems. If you find you are experiencing difficulties of any kind, it is always best to address the problem early on.
- Talk to the Undergraduate or Postgraduate Officer. They can assist you with any administrative problems you may encounter.
-
Contact the Language & Learning Skills Unit. They can help you improve your study skills, academic writing skills, and critical thinking skills. They can also help you with your essays and presentations, even your thesis when you get to that point. They can even help you get the most out of your study time.
-
Consult the large database of FAQs for Undergraduate Students. If you can not find an answer to your academic or administrative question there, you can submit and enquiry directly from the site.
- Contact the MU Student Union Advisory Service. They can help you with both personal and academic problems. Consultations are free and strictly confidential. Personal challenges can impact your academic performance.
-
Learn about Special Consideration and apply for it if you need to.
- Access the services and assistance provided by the University, through its Transition Program.
- If you think you may have a disability, consult with The Disability Liason Unit (DLU). Over 900 students with disabilities access services offered by the DLU on an annual basis. The term 'disability' refers to any permanent or temporary condition that may arise from a sensory, physical, psychological, medical or neurological condition. Many of the students who utilise the DLU have 'hidden' disabilities such as mental health or medical conditions. The DLU offers a free and confidential service for enrolled students of the University, including students at regional campuses.
