Essay Guide - Submission

Return of Essays

If you want to have your essay posted to you after marking, submit it with a self-addressed, stamped A4-size envelope. Make sure it has sufficient postage. Additional postage will not be added nor the item resent if there is insufficient postage.

Extensions

Extra time for the completion of an assignment may be granted to students in special circumstances. This is referred to as an extension.

How to apply:

An extension must be requested prior to the due date of the assignments.

Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are treated in strict confidence. Extensions are granted only in the case of serious illness or personal difficulties. They are typically not granted because of your workload in other subjects or because you have extra-curricular commitments.

An extension is not valid unless the extension form has been signed by the tutor or lecturer. Once you receive an extension, you may not apply for a further extension for the same assignment.

Special Consideration

If your work during the academic year has to a substantial degree been hampered by illness or other cause or if you have been prevented by illness or other cause from preparing all or part of a component of assessment, you may qualify for Special Consideration.

To apply:

  1. Read the guidelines for special consideration
  2. Apply online through SIS
