Reading Groups

Reading groups involve postgraduates who have certain research interests in common and who meet regularly to discuss aspects of their ongoing research within an informal environment. Presentations range from more formally structured papers to open discussion of ideas and work in progress. Participation in reading groups, which can take differing forms, means that you can hone your presentation skills and also get feedback from fellow researchers.

All postgraduates in the School are encouraged to participate in one or more of these groups. Although a staff member or your supervisor may be your first point of contact for these groups, the success of any group depends on willing and regular participation of students. To join a group or find out about one, first, contact the person/s listed as initial convenor or ask your supervisor for details.
