Bulletin Number 3, 15 September 2006

Dear All

By now some of you will be en route if not in Melbourne. A few last minute reminders:

  1. The website is now fully up to date with the program and venues. Please double check your own presentation time to be sure you are not working off an old schedule.
  2. At the beginning of each day: Come to the Open Stage theatre, Arts Centre building, corner of Swanston and Grattan Streets, Carlton on the first morning, from 8 am. The conference will kick off at 9am sharp!
  3. Please make sure that you all register!
  4. Meet up for drinks: On Monday evening (the 28th, the evening before the conference begins), Dmitry Trubotchkin is presenting a paper on 'The Stanislavski System in Contemporary Russia' - Open Stage theatre, 6.30 pm.

Please join us there either for the lecture or afterwards (we should be finished around 7.45 - 8.00). We will go for a drink and some food to the Cafe Italia, 56-66 University Street, Carlton (www.cafeitalia.com.au). University St is quite close to the University, off Lygon Street, more or less behind La Mama Theatre. Ask someone where it is - Lygon Street is always busy with people.

On Tuesday and Wednesday evenings it seems inevitable that groups of us will also go to dinner after the day's program finishes. Feel free to call Paul or Francesca to find out what is happening...
  5. Accommodation: Don't forget to let us know where you are staying. We may need to contact you for some reason.
  6. Length of papers: we will be using a bell to keep presenters to time. The program is quite full ... so please make sure your paper is delivered within the time you have for your paper.
  7. Final Dinner (Friday) and Tour (Saturday): Don't forget to let Francesca know by Wednesday morning if you are intending to go to the Final Dinner on Friday evening, or on the tour to the Dandenong Ranges on Saturday. We need to know numbers by Wednesday morning.

That's all for now. We are looking forward very much to chatting to you all very in a few days time.

Paul Monaghan
on behalf of the Close Relations convenors
