Francois Lissarrague is Directeur d'Etudes at the l'Ecole des hautes etudes en sciences sociales (EHESS) in Paris. He is the author of The Aesthetics of the Greek Banquet: Images of Wine and Ritual (1990), Greek Vases: the Athenians and Their Images (2001), and a variety of book chapters on Greek vase iconography, especially women and satyrs.
This lecture is part of the Winter Lecture Series (‘Cultural Differences in Sport’) of the School of Historical Studies at the University of Melbourne.
